Socket Distribution Boards
Distribution boards are most commonly designed for distributing electrical energy in commercial and residential buidling. These are one type of kiosks which are having many fuse units used in various circuits designed using copper or aluminium bus bars which are used for connecting circuits across the supply terminals. The most commonly found boards have copper or aluminium bus bar strips which are fitted on the back wall of metal kiosk used in insulator supports.
With the help of isolation switch, one bus bar strip is fixed with phase terminal and another one is connected with the neutral terminal. Generally fuse units are placed parallelly which are connected with the phase busbar, which feed their own circuit. Neutral of all the circuits are connected directly with the normal bus bar. This must be noted that cable which feeds the distribution board should to enough capable for carrying maximum current load. No limitation has been set on the number of circuits that can be connected with these board but it is also considered best to use sub distributing boards for larger networks installed in multi-storage buildings. Every sub distributing boards are connected with the main one with a link switch. Most commonly these boards are used for mains supply and sub distributing boards are fixed near the loads.
